The agreement was signed by Sochi 2014 President and chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko and Kärcher chief executive Oleg Minaev while it will see the company provide over 200 pieces of cleaning machinery.

The deal will also see and the company's staff will be hired during the Games to carry out technical support of the cleaning machinery operating at the venues in the coastal and mountain clusters.

Kärcher has performed the role at previous Olympic and Paralympic Games, including at Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000.

"We are glad that the task of keeping the venues ship-shape is going to be in the reliable hands of Kärcher, a company which is a leader in its field and has demonstrated its professional approach time and again at previous Games," said Chernyshenko.

"So thanks to Kärcher, the cleanliness of the Olympic and Paralympic venues of the coastal and mountain clusters will be 100 per cent guaranteed."


During the Games, there will be 153 pieces of Kärcher machinery operating in the Olympic Park, including floor sweepers, self-propelled sweepers and indoor scrubbers.

The other 64 pieces of machinery will operating in the mountain cluster.
