BT London_Live_Trafalgar_Sq_Sept_1September 1 - Until September 9, BT London Live is transforming the capital's famous Trafalgar Square into the place to enjoy the best of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.


Courtesy of Channel 4, the official Paralympic broadcaster, anyone at Trafalgar Square can watch live sporting action from the London 2012 Paralympics on a 60 metre tall, giant state-of-the-art screen.

Aspiring athletes of all abilities will also be able to try out a range of Paralympic sports including sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis.

As well as the sporting activities, visitors can enjoy live cultural performances, every day between 11am and 10pm.

In addition, live music performances are scheduled to take place at 1pm every day and will feature gigs from deaf and disabled artists including Denise Leigh, Lizzie Emeh, Signmark and Heavy Load.

Other artists will perform at 7pm and include The Beat, Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band, the Fabulous Lounge Swingers and London Calling.

Absolute Radio, the official national radio station of BT London Live, and Magic 105.4, the official London radio station of BT London Live, will also be in situ, interviewing Paralympic GB medallists on-stage every evening.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: "With on screen action, great entertainment and have a go sports to try, BT London Live will be a terrific opportunity to feel a part of the action right in the heart of the capital and an exciting highlight of our Paralympic celebrations."

Ade Adepitan, BT Ambassador and Paralympian, commented: "I am hugely excited about the Paralympics taking place on home soil.

"The whole country is getting behind ParalympicsGB and if you aren't lucky enough to have tickets to support them in person, BT London Live in Trafalgar Square is the best place to be!"

Over one million people celebrated the London 2012 Olympic Games at BT London Live Hyde Park and Victoria Park – a key part of the citywide programme of free cultural events organised by the Mayor of London to celebrate the London 2012 Games.

BT London Live at Trafalgar Square is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with no ticket required.

Entry is subject to capacity.
