Goalball 29_JulyJuly 29 - The Goalball Men's InterCup has begun in Malmo, Sweden, with 11 top teams battling in the final major tournament before London 2012.

World champions Lithuania and European champions Finland will be among the leading contenders this summer and are in Malmo for the event.

Hosts Sweden (pictured top), Paralympic Games hosts Britain and world number-three Iran are also there, as are Canada, Denmark, Belgium, Japan and the Czech Republic.

The competition lasts for three days and is held at the Kulladals Sporthall.

Sweden will have an excellent chance after winning bronze at the European Championships as well as at the last Paralympic Games in 2008.

Lithuania were runners-up at the last Paralympics and they will also be confident of victory in Malmo.

This summer's Paralympics will be taking place at the Handball Arena in the Olympic Park.

The competition gets underway on August 30 and runs until September 7.
