Brazils London_2012_womens_goalball_June_8June 8 – Brazil has announced the six athletes who will represent the country in the women's goalball tournament at the London 2012 Paralympics.

Ana Custódio, Claudia Gonçalves de Amorim Oliveira, Denise Batista de Souza, Gleyse Portioli de Souza, Márcia Vieira dos Santos and Neusimar Clemente dos Santos have all been chosen to compete for Brazil.

Bar Batista de Souza, the selection is almost the same as the team that won silver, after losing in the final to the United States, at the Parapan American Games last year in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The team will hope to do better than they did in Beijing in 2008 though, when they were eliminated in the preliminary group stage.

The decision regarding the London 2012 selection was made by Brazil's Visually Impaired Sports Confederation (CBDV) after a training period that ran from May 19 to June 2 in Niterói.

Another training camp for the squad will take place from June 17 to July 1.

The team will then take part in the International Goalball Tournament in Alabama, United States, from July 11 to 14.
