Iran win_Dream_Asia_tournamentApril 9 - Iran have won both team and individual honours at the inaugural Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Cerebral Palsy Tournament in Abu Dhabi.

After Iran won all their games to claim the title, Binham Shoharabi was also named the best player at the competition.

Iran's final game saw them beat South Korea 2-0 and take the title of what was the first tournament of its kind, held under the Dream Asia initiative which aims to produce positive social change.

Australia came second, with Singapore in third, followed by South Korea, the hosts United Arab Emirates and Jordan.

Iranian head coach Amin Mani was delighted after their victory, and praised organisers for putting together  the event.

"Football in Asia is constantly evolving, helping disabled people feel part of society and now they have their own tournaments and championships to look forward to," he said.

"It has delighted me that so many nations have participated in this year's tournament - 16 years ago the teams were weak and tournaments and events were almost non-existent."

"I am very happy to have been given the chance to participate in something like this.

"I am amazed at how much effort and organisation has been given to this tournament"

Mustafa Farouk of Jordan won the best goalkeeper award at the tournament, and said that his dream now was to "become the best goalkeeper that Asia has ever seen."

A Closing Ceremony was held which included fireworks, a film of the tournament and a local dance group putting on a performance.
