July 14 - A new multi-million pound sponsorship deal with Dow Chemical that will include London 2012 will be announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) later this week, it has been reported.

Jacques Rogge, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will attend a special ceremony to mark the announcement in New York on Friday (July 16), the Associated Press have reported.

Dow will be the tenth TOP sponsor for London 2012, joining a list of blue-chip companies that already includes the likes Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Panasonic and Visa.

The $100 million (£65 million) deal will also help take the IOC closer to its goal of raising $1 billion (£658 million) in the London 2012 Olympiad.

The deal will also be a boost for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), who get 20 per cent of all global sponsorship revenue, although a new revenue-sharing formula is currently being negotiated.
